HISTORY

Thought to be Boonah’s oldest pub building in some circles, the heritage of the Dugandan Hotel dates back to the 1880s when the building was first established by Carl Stumer.  The Dugandan did not actually become a hotel until 1913 however, trading as a general store for its first few decades.

The original hotel design included accommodation, a cellar, water tanks to ensure cool liquor as well as a kitchen and servants’ rooms.

Over the years the Dugie has survived natural disasters including the 2011 floods, as well as undergoing renovations including a new deck and beer garden called 'The Chook Yard'.  Throughout it all the Dugie retains its traditional country pub charm and continues to entertain locals and visitors to the area, hopefully for another century to come!
